Our MFT program is dynamic and innovative. You will learn the steps in becoming a licensed psychotherapist. After two quarters, you can begin a practicum. The practicum lasts two quarters (approximately six months.) After the MA degree, the students go onto a MFT Internship. The internship takes place at a non-profit agency. After obtaining 3000 hours of supervision, the student can apply for licensure. When licensed, Marriage and Family Therapists can practice independently.

The MFT program at EIPS includes the following courses

Foundations of Psychotherapy- This course covers the main theorists and clinicians in the field of psychotherapy

Practicum- The student goes onto a placement where they receive onsite supervision hours. These hours. A practicum course is concurrent with the field placement.

Group Counseling-The student is introduced to the major therapists in this arena.

One major advantage at EIPS is that we do not require a Thesis or Dissertation. On the other hand we require a Capstone which is either a position paper or a research proposal.
The Capstone is 25-35 pages written in a professional style following APA guidelines.

The classes are small in number which allows more effective communication and learning.

EIPS uses an asynchronous format who allows for great flexibility in terms of time and convenience.
